Today we bring a new Miui tutorial or trick, which you possibly didn’t know before. It is about a secret options that we can have and activate in the camera stock of your phone.
Unlock new hidden features on your stock camera with Miui
One of the best features of Miui, is its amount of customization options it has. The bad, that many of them are very difficult to access or are even hidden, such as this function that “blocks” us 9 more functions of our camera.
Activate the secret camera options of your Xiaomi, Redmi or Poco
To activate these hidden camera features, we have two ways to do it:
- The first way is by means of a computer, by connecting the phone via USB, to view the internal files of our cell phone
- The second way, and the most comfortable in my opinion, is with the file manager of the cell phone itself
After you have either of the two ways to view the files on your phone, what we’ll need to do is go to the internal memory of the phone.
In the root of your phone you will see that you have a folder called DCIMwe enter it.
Once inside we will see another folder that says Camera (If you don’t see the camera folder, just go and take a picture, and it will be created automatically).
Once inside the camera folderfolder, what we have to do is to create a folder called “lab_options_visible“, without the quotation marks.
- To create a folder you can click on the 3 dots on the right, and it should look like this:
Once this folder is created, we can exit the file manager and go to the camera of our phone.
At the top right there are three lines of the cAMERA MENUmenu, click on it and look for the option settings.
Once inside the camera settings, we need to scroll down to the endand you will see that there are new options that were not there before.
The new options are in a block called “experimental features“, I explain what each of the new options are.
Attention: Not all models will have these options, some will have more, some will have less. It also depends on the hardware of the phone you are using.
Also to say, that the activating or deactivating these options, has no riskyou can always go back whenever you want by deleting the folder we have created.
