Notifications window turned totally gray with the latest system update, and it seems that they are not going to fix it. Since as Xiaomi explains, this is not a bug, but a feature for improve performance on devices.

With this tutorial I will explain you how to put it back in transparent, giving it back the life it had.

how to remove the gray in the notification center of Xiaomi?

Well, the first thing first of all will be to download the free app from the Play Store, called Mi Control Center (see)

  • Download it and hit it all the necessary permits like any application
  • In the main menu, click on the option of Colors
  • Select the “Backgroud Type” option

  • Click on the “Blur” option AND adjust the elements of “Transparency” and “blur level” to your liking for the effect you want to have.
  • Alternatively you can also click on “Image blur” AND choose whether to always use the background or a custom image (the latter only for the Premium application)
  • Once the changes have been made, if you do not receive notificationsyou will have to reboot the device and that’s it!

With this simple tutorial to remove the gray background that Xiaomi put on our phones, you can enjoy again and adjust even more with this application, other options, such as from which measure opens the control center or notificationsselect other designs etc..

New method to modify the gray background and leave the default one

  • On the Xda forums, some users have tested a new method to leave the background transparentwhich our phones previously had.
  • For this, just download the application Setedit
  • Once installed, we open it and we go to search in the options it has until we find “deviceLevelList

  • We write down the numberin case we want to leave it again by default sometime.
  • Now click on Edit Value and add the following v:1,c:3,g:3
  • Now all we have to do is restartand our gray background, has become transparent again
  • Remember, that you cannot delete the SetEdit application and that you can put the value back as it was, following the same steps as above.
