XAI, the artificial intelligence company of Elon Musk, which owns the social network X, has incorporated the ability to have Grok memory, its conversational chatbot of AI.
Thanks to this new functionality, Grok is able to remember phrases and elements used in previous interactions with the user. Thus, you can take into account the questions you already asked her – and the answers he offered – as well as the audiovisual elements he analyzed, when offering new information.
This will allow the responses that Grok offers to be more accurate, since it will not repeat concepts already offered previously – not if it is required – and can also adapt them to the interests of the user. For example, you will know what kind of information you usually request, what are your preferences or how you like to show the information, among other things.
This new functionality is available for Grok users, both who use it for free in X -Without the need for X Premium -and those who use the independent Grok app or are subscribers of Xia’s services.
New “Reference Chats” button
Along with the incorporation of memory, Grok also now adds a new button called “reference chats” found at the bottom of the results it offers to the user. By clicking on him, he will be able to see Grok based to offer him an answer, and he can eliminate those references that are not useful at that time.
If, for example, he asks about time in his city, and Grok is taking that his reference city is Madrid, because he previously asked from there, he can eliminate that memory of Grok’s memory to have a new answer without taking into account the previous interaction. It is also possible to eliminate the history of conversations with Grok in X.
That is, at all times the user will have the power to decide whether he wants the answers to be offered by Grok to be based on memories and past interactions.
With this novelty, users can have a much more personalized experience when receiving explanations and responses from Grok. The objective is that he can even anticipate and respond to what the user needs, before he requests it, or that at least he does not go to use another AI tool and increase his permanence on the platform.
Meta added a similar functionality in his conversational chatbot, Meta AI, last January. In it, users can also control what AI knows about them or not.
