If you need to blur the faces on your YouTube videos, you can do it in a very simple way using YouTube Studio. With this tool you will have the possibility of protecting the identity of the people who appear in your videos to safeguard their privacy.
It is a very useful tool especially if you usually film in public spaces or in your pieces there are minors and you do not have the authorization to show your identity.
In fact, on the platform you can blur any part that you want according to the needs you have for your project, not just the faces. Steps to use the blur in YouTube videos
To blur faces in YouTube videos you just have to follow the following steps:
From the browser of your preference, either on your computer or mobile, enter the YouTube Studio website through the link: https://studio.youtube.com/
It is important that you log in with your Gmail account. Once this is done, you can start with the editing process.
In the left panel of your screen, select the option «Content». Once there, a window will open with the videos that you already have loaded on the platform.
After choosing the content you want to edit, click to open the details of that video. Then, in the left panel, look for the “editor” option and select “Start.” From here you can make the necessary adjustments in your audiovisual material.
To start blurring, you must click on the strip that says “unbridled.” Then, select the option “Black face.”
After several seconds, the system will automatically detect the faces that appear in your video. You will only have to wait for the process to end. Once finished, you will see all the faces available to blur.
You can select one by pressing on the face of the face you want to blur. You also have the option of pressing the “Select everything” button if you want to apply the blur to all faces simultaneously, according to what you need.
Once the faces are chosen, click “Apply.” After a few seconds, the blur will be integrated into the video, and you can identify it in the timeline with a black strip that corresponds to the time where it was applied.
You can even reproduce the video to see how it has been, and adjust the size of the blur in case the system has not been so precise.
In case you do not like the result, you can click on the paper icon to erase the blur and start the process again.
When you are satisfied with the result, press “save” in the upper right and the blur will be applied correctly in your video.
How to make a personalized blur
In addition, you can apply a personalized blur from the same section, selecting the option «Personalized blur».
There, you can choose the shape of the blur, whether rectangular, oval, follow some particular object, or if it is a fixed blur. This will depend on the type of work you are doing and the style that best suits.
Once the type of blur is chosen, you must position it on the subject’s face in the timeline and adjust it with the mouse, either shortening or increasing size, depending on what you want to hide.
When you finish applying the personalized blur, check the result. If you are satisfied, press “save” so that the changes are applied in the video.
