Google introduced a new feature to Google Chat, the professional version of Google Hangouts, which allows users to pin or pin a conversation with their contacts in Gmail.
Google allows you to pin Google Chats conversations and rooms at the top of the menu on the left in Gmail
This feature can be used to set up chat conversations as well as rooms or groups that the user has. In this way, he can directly and quickly access important conversations that he does not want to lose sight of when checking his e-mails.
The conversation is set directly at the first positions above in the “Google Chat and Rooms” area. To configure these fixed chats and have direct access to them in Gmail, you need to do the following:
– Sign in to Gmail
– Display the menu on the left which shows Google Chat conversations and rooms.
-In each section of the conversation there is the plus sign “+”. Pressing will bring up the option to “Set” the chat.
-It’s just a matter of choosing the chat you want to highlight and that’s it. If done correctly, a red dot will appear next to the name of the contact or group whose chat you want to highlight.
Currently, the feature is only available to users of Workspace Essentials, Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus. Also for G Suite Basic, Business, Education, Enterprise for Education and nonprofit customers. In addition, it can be used in both the web version of Gmail and the mobile version for iOS and Android operating systems.
Given that Google Hangouts should supposedly be eliminated in 2020 – something that has delayed the pandemic – and that Google Chats will be free for everyone in 2021, it is more than possible that this option could turn into Google Chat conversations Gmail fixes will be available to all users in the near future.
